Job summary

Kemper CPA Group LLP in Merced, California seeks a Senior Tax Accountant to join our public accounting team. This senior, non-management role requires three to five years of tax experience in public accounting and the ability to work with clients and staff across engagements.

You will prepare and review federal, state, local, and special tax returns, ensure timely reporting, and mentor staff. CPA preferred; some overtime during peak seasons is expected.

Qualifications

• Prepare federal, state, local, and special tax returns independently or with minimal direction.
• Communicate with partners, staff, and clients to ensure timely tax reporting.
• Review financial statements and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintain professional standards and stay current on tax legislation and industry trends.
• Mentor interns and newer staff; contribute to staff development.
• Manage multiple client requests efficiently and under time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Complete moderately complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements and communicate with stakeholders.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reports from data collected and analyzed.
• Promote efficient execution and positive client relationships across engagements.
• Research tax issues and respond to client questions clearly.
