Job summary

Sarinelli & Associates in Succasunna, NJ seeks a Senior Tax Accountant to own and manage complex tax engagements, collaborating with seasoned professionals in a growing firm.

You will lead tax preparations across individuals, trusts, partnerships, and corporations, advise clients, and identify tax-saving opportunities while ensuring accurate bookkeeping in QuickBooks. This role emphasizes communication, independence, and professional integrity.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in Accounting required.
• CPA or active pursuit of license desired.
• Experience preparing business and individual tax returns.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office especially, Word and Excel.
• QuickBooks experience (desktop and online).
• Proficiency in tax preparation software; Lacerte Tax experience preferred.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong work ethic, integrity and reliability.
• Strong sense of professionalism.
• Ability to maintain client confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyze individual, trust, gift, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding tax returns and other tax related issues.
• Research and advise clients on complex tax questions.
• Identify tax-saving opportunities for business clients and owners.
• Bookkeeping and work with client records to create general ledger in accounting software (QuickBooks).
• Review and adjust client accounting records to reconcile with tax returns, including cash and accrual basis differences.
• Demonstrate skill, judgment, and initiative to independently manage multiple assignments.
• Supervise and train entry-level accounting staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your manager.
• Effective communicator with the ability to ask questions in a professional, clear and concise manner and demonstrate patience in client interactions.
