Job summary

Sarinelli & Associates in Succasunna, NJ is seeking a sharp and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to lead complex tax engagements and work with seasoned professionals. The role emphasizes client service, tax strategy, and ownership of engagements.

You will prepare and review returns across individuals, trusts, gifts, partnerships, and corporations, while mentoring junior staff and communicating clearly with clients. A CPA or active pursuit is preferred, with strong QuickBooks/Lacerte experience.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in Accounting required.
• CPA or active pursuit of license desired.
• Experience preparing business and individual tax returns.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
• QuickBooks experience (desktop and online).
• Proficiency in tax preparation software; Lacerte Tax experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and analyze individual, trust, gift, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding tax returns and other tax-related issues.
• Research and advise clients on complex tax questions.
• Identify tax-saving opportunities for business clients and owners.
• Bookkeeping and work with client records to create general ledger in QuickBooks.
• Review and adjust client accounting records to reconcile with tax returns, including cash and accrual basis differences.
• Demonstrate independence in managing multiple assignments and supervise entry-level staff.
