Job summary

Explorer Pipeline is seeking an experienced Tank Project Engineer to lead aboveground storage tank programs from planning through completion. You will coordinate with Operations, Field Operations, HSSE, I&C, and Project Engineering to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and on-time delivery.

The role requires 5+ years handling API 653 tank projects, strong budgeting and scheduling skills, and the ability to train engineers and field staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5+ years API 653 tank project experience.
• API 653 Inspector certification and CWI preferred.
• Experience in cathodic protection and coatings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complies with DOT/OSHA safety requirements and reports hazards.
• Manage aboveground tank construction, inspection, repair, and modification projects from initiation through closure.
• Coordinate API 653 tank inspections and manage repairs as needed.
• Document, record, and maintain information on tank inspections, repairs, and modifications.
• Monitor costs and schedules, ensuring on-time delivery and budget adherence.
• Develop and present technical training programs for engineers and field personnel.
• Participate in API subcommittee work and maintain industry peer networks.
• Coordinate tank program requirements with Operations, Field Operations, HSSE, I&C, and Project Engineering.
• Develop and maintain OME procedures for tank storage management and integrity programs.
