Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a Sr Principal / Director TAM Statistician focused on statistical methodology and simulation within Biostatistics and Data Sciences. You will lead the Simulation Hub, guide complex trial simulations, and advance scalable, reproducible workflows in R and Python.

The role requires a PhD and 7+ years in pharma statistics (10+ years for Director), strong communication, and a track record in simulation methodology.

Qualifications

• PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field is desirable.
• 7+ years of experience as a statistician or data scientist in pharma; 10+ years for Director.
• Strong experience in pharmaceutical clinical development and regulatory environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in statistical simulation and methodology.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary, scientific, technical, and strategic leadership for the Simulation Hub.
• Lead and develop the Simulation Hub team with clear priorities and roles.
• Partner with development teams and statisticians to identify high-value simulation needs.
• Lead simulation and methodology work for complex development questions and adaptive designs.
• Ensure simulation work uses sound methods, clear assumptions, and reproducible workflows.
• Promote reusable code, documentation, testing, and version control for simulations.
• Communicate results clearly to statisticians and non-statisticians.
• Represent BDS in cross-functional and external collaborations.
