Job description

About Jerritt Canyon

The Jerritt Canyon deposit was discovered in 1972, and the first gold production from the property occurred in 1981. The Jerritt Canyon property contains 30,821 hectares of mining claims located in the mining-friendly state of Nevada. First Majestic acquired the Jerritt Canyon Gold Mine from Sprott Mining Inc. on April 30, 2021. In May 2023, operations were suspended to prioritize exploration and technical studies. Jerritt Canyon is now entering a new phase of evaluation and planning, requiring substantial technical support to advance the work necessary for a potential future restart of operations.

The Opportunity

The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a key role in building the workforce needed to support Jerritt Canyon's next phase. This is a high-impact, hands‑on recruiting role for a proactive and resourceful professional who thrives in a fast-paced mining environment, enjoys full-cycle ownership, and is energized by hard-to-fill roles, shifting priorities, and the opportunity to create solutions. The successful candidate will partner closely with site leadership and Human Resources to develop competitive recruiting strategies, strengthen talent pipelines, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience while representing First Majestic and Jerritt Canyon in the Nevada mining market.

Responsibilities
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for site-based, technical, professional, and operational roles, including intake, market strategy, sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer development, and onboarding coordination.
  • Serve as a strategic recruiting partner to hiring managers, providing guidance on market conditions, candidate availability, compensation positioning, and practical approaches for hard-to-fill mining roles.
  • Develop creative, targeted sourcing strategies that go beyond job postings, including direct outreach, networking, referrals, industry connections, community partnerships, and talent pipeline development.
  • Take ownership of critical requisitions with a strong sense of urgency, follow-through, and accountability in a fast-paced, evolving work environment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with qualified passive candidates, mining professionals, technical schools, colleges, workforce partners, and industry organizations to support current and future hiring needs.
  • Partner with hiring managers to create compelling postings, interview plans, candidate evaluation criteria, and recruiting timelines aligned with business needs.
  • Conduct candidate screenings and interviews, delivering clear assessments, hiring recommendations, and timely feedback to support quality hiring decisions.
  • Represent First Majestic and Jerritt Canyon professionally as a strong employment brand ambassador, clearly communicating the opportunity, culture, schedule, compensation, benefits, and long-term growth potential.
  • Partner with the HR lead to develop and present competitive salary recommendations aligned with compensation guidelines and market realities.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting activity, candidate data, and requisition status in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and prepare recruiting updates, metrics, and reports as needed.
  • Identify process improvements, sourcing tools, and recruiting approaches that improve speed, quality, candidate experience, and hiring manager partnership.
  • Exercise sound judgment, confidentiality, professionalism, and alignment with Company values in all candidate, employee, and leadership interactions.
  • Maintain compliance with Company policies, employment-related requirements, safety expectations, environmental standards, and code of conduct requirements.
  • Perform work safely and complete other related duties as assigned.

The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent progressive recruiting experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive full-cycle recruiting or talent acquisition experience, preferably supporting mining, industrial, technical, construction, manufacturing, energy, or other hard-to-fill operational roles.
  • Demonstrated success sourcing passive candidates and filling challenging roles in competitive labor markets.
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle recruiting practices, candidate assessment, hiring manager partnership, offer development, and candidate experience.
  • Ability to work with significant autonomy, manage multiple priorities, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Creative, resourceful, and willing to think outside the box to identify talent, solve problems, and move searches forward.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to advise hiring managers and build credibility across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Microsoft Office applications, job boards, LinkedIn, and modern sourcing tools.
