Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of construction terminology and project staffing.

Job description

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including intake meetings, sourcing, candidate screening, interview coordination, offer negotiation, and onboarding transition.
  • Partner directly with construction leaders, project executives, operations leadership, and hiring managers to understand project staffing needs, technical requirements, and workforce priorities.
  • Recruit across a broad range of construction positions, including Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, Estimators, Preconstruction professionals, Safety professionals, Field Operations, and construction leadership.
  • Develop targeted recruiting strategies for specialized and difficult-to-fill construction positions across multiple projects and markets.
  • Build a strong understanding of project requirements, construction environments, and the experience necessary for candidates to successfully operate in the field.
  • Serve as a trusted talent advisor by providing hiring managers with market intelligence, candidate availability, compensation insights, and competitive hiring information.
  • Develop and maintain pipelines of construction professionals through direct sourcing, networking, referrals, industry relationships, and recruiting platforms.
  • Conduct detailed candidate evaluations focused on construction experience, project scope, technical capabilities, leadership experience, communication skills, and overall fit.
  • Build relationships with passive construction professionals and maintain talent pipelines for anticipated project and workforce needs.
  • Manage offer development and negotiation in partnership with Human Resources, compensation teams, and business leadership.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting activity, candidate records, interview feedback, and hiring documentation within the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Monitor recruiting metrics, pipeline health, hiring progress, and time-to-fill while providing clear updates to construction and business leadership.
Day to Day Responsibilities
  • Lead intake meetings with hiring managers to understand project scope, position requirements, construction experience, technical qualifications, and hiring timelines.
  • Source and engage construction professionals through LinkedIn Recruiter, industry job boards, referrals, professional networks, targeted outreach, and internal talent pipelines.
  • Conduct comprehensive recruiter interviews to understand candidates' project experience, responsibilities, construction environments, technical capabilities, and career progression.
  • Evaluate candidates based on the size, scope, complexity, and type of construction projects they have supported.
  • Present qualified candidates to hiring managers with clear summaries of relevant project experience, technical qualifications, compensation expectations, and availability.
  • Maintain consistent communication with passive candidates and develop long-term relationships within targeted construction talent markets.
  • Coordinate interviews across project teams, operations leadership, Human Resources, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple searches simultaneously across different construction disciplines, projects, locations, and levels of seniority.
  • Prepare candidates for interviews by providing clear information regarding the position, project environment, leadership team, and hiring process.
  • Facilitate candidate feedback and debrief discussions with hiring managers to maintain momentum throughout the recruiting process.
  • Track recruiting activity and prepare pipeline reports, hiring updates, market intelligence, and recruiting metrics for leadership.
  • Stay informed on construction labor market conditions, compensation trends, major projects, competitor hiring activity, and candidate availability within assigned markets.
Preferred Experience and Attributes
  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting or talent acquisition experience, preferably supporting construction, engineering, infrastructure, data center, industrial, or other project-driven environments.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting construction professionals such as Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers, Estimators, Preconstruction professionals, Safety professionals, and construction leadership.
  • Strong understanding of construction terminology, project structures, field operations, and the differences between key construction disciplines.
  • Experience recruiting for both field-based and corporate construction positions across multiple levels of seniority.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with Project Executives, construction leadership, operations leaders, and hiring managers.
  • Strong direct sourcing capabilities with demonstrated success identifying and engaging passive construction professionals.
  • Ability to evaluate construction candidates based on project type, size, complexity, responsibilities, technical expertise, and leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting high-volume hiring, difficult-to-fill positions, or rapidly growing construction teams is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of regional construction talent markets and the ability to develop pipelines ahead of anticipated project needs.
  • Proven ability to manage the complete recruiting process from initial intake through accepted offer and onboarding transition.
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience managing compensation discussions, counteroffers, candidate expectations, and competing opportunities.
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and other recruiting and sourcing technologies.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-management skills with the ability to work effectively with field personnel, senior construction leaders, executives, and candidates.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple searches and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • High level of professionalism, urgency, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
