Job summary

Barrick Gold Corporation in Elko, NV seeks a Senior Tailings and Heap Leach Engineer to lead design, operation, monitoring and closure of tailings storage and heap leach facilities at the Carlin Complex. You will work with diverse teams to ensure regulatory compliance and safety, with focus on data analysis and fieldwork.

Qualifications include a BS in engineering, knowledge of tailings and heap leach operations and 2–5 years of mining experience.

Qualifications

B.S. in geological, civil or mining engineering or related field as required.
Knowledge of tailings and heap leach operations is required.
Water management and water balance modeling preferred.
2–5 years of mining or related industry experience preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills required.
Ability to work in a team is required.

Responsibilities

Lead tailings and heap leach facility management in the Carlin Complex.
Conduct regular inspections and monitoring of TSFs and HLFs.
Develop and implement tailings management plans aligned with GISTM.
Collaborate with operating teams, mining engineers, environmental specialists and consultants.
Review monitoring data (groundwater, seepage, settlement) for stability.
Support reclamation, closure planning and water balance modeling efforts.
