Job summary

Barrick Gold Corporation's Carlin Environmental & Compliance team seeks a Senior Tailings and Heap Leach Engineer in Elko, NV. You will design, monitor, and close tailings storage facilities and heap leach operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and Barrick standards.

The role involves field work, data analysis, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and development of management plans aligned with GISTM, with a focus on safety and sustainable mine life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Geological, Civil, Mining Engineering or related field.
• Tailings and Heap leach operations knowledge required.
• Water management knowledge preferred.
• 2–5 years of mining experience preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills required.

Responsibilities

• Lead health and safety at site.
• Conduct regular inspections and monitoring of TSFs and HLFs.
• Develop and implement tailings management plans aligned with GISTM.
• Coordinate with operating teams, environmental specialists, consultants, and Engineers of Record.
• Review monitoring data and communicate findings to operations.
• Support reclamation and closure planning.
• Provide updates on water and mass balance modeling.
