Job summary

Danfoss Power Solutions is seeking a Senior Tactical Buyer to execute material planning for purchased components and align with production plans. You will use MRP to communicate schedules and purchase orders, monitor inventories, and provide daily updates to planning teams.

This on-site role offers a salary range of 65–80K depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of buying experience, a supply chain degree, and strong analytics with SAP/ERP proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chain preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in buying.
  • Technical knowledge: forecasting tools; SAP/ERP; MRP/MPS; CPP/CPIM/CSCP certifications; advanced analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Execute material planning to procure raw materials in alignment with production plan.
  • Manage supplier schedules and communication via MRP/ERP.
  • Monitor inventory and strive for on-time delivery and working capital optimization.

The Impact You'll Make

Danfoss is looking for a Tactical Buyer to Execute material planning for purchased components in alignment with the production plan requirements. Utilize MRP to effectively communication schedules and purchase orders to suppliers, follow-up with suppliers daily, manage inventory levels to ensure consistent flow of materials, and provide daily updates to the production planning/master scheduling teams. Carry out all activities according to Danfoss Ethics and Values. This position is on-site and the salary range is 65-80K based on experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Execute material planning to procure raw materials through a consistent process reducing variation on the supply base.
  • Accountable for inventory performance of set of suppliers/commodities to maintain balance of on time delivery and working capital performance.
  • Utilize MRP to the fullest extent to ensure timely and accurate communication of supplier schedules and/or discrete purchase order releases.
  • Accountable for monitoring ERP health measures to ensure the consistent use of MRP in managing suppliers and schedules.
  • Drive continuous improvement and consistency in item master and standard planning processes.
  • Minimize all inbound/outbound premium freight.
  • Complete root cause analysis; develop robust improvement plans to ensure consistency of material flow.
  • Support and work with other departments and/or functions to resolve materials issues.
  • Review and adhere to establish processes.
  • Propose continuous improvement initiatives both internal and external to the function, which drive efficient use of resources.
  • Follow escalation process to expedite materials and/or any other supply issue according to business needs.
  • Support all activities related with accounts payable to ensure on time payment to suppliers and avoid accounts "credit hold".
  • Maintain relationships with supplier base to ensure efficient and transparent flow of two-way communication.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chain preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in buying.
  • Technical knowledge:
    • Familiar with forecasting tools.
    • CPP, CPIM, or CSCP certification.
    • Highly advanced analytical and cognitive skills.
    • Experience in MRP, MPS, Min-Max tools.
    • Experience in SAP or similar ERP system.
    • Proficient in MS Office /Excel, able to develop spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrates a Collaborative Style.
  • Possesses Interpersonal Savvy (Supplier/Customer Relationships).
  • Strong ethics and professional presence required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
