Job summary

Synechron in Iselin, NJ is seeking a Tableau BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that power analytics and strategic decision‑making. You will gather requirements from business users and translate them into scalable BI solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• 4+ years of Tableau development and BI reporting experience.
• Strong Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud experience.
• Advanced SQL with joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, tuning.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts.
• Experience with fact/dimension tables, star/snowflake schemas.
• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL or Snowflake.
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT methodologies and data integration.
• Experience optimizing dashboards and queries for large data sets.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards, scorecards, reports, and visualizations.
• Gather reporting requirements from business users and translate into BI solutions.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries for data extraction and reporting.
• Create dashboards using Tableau Desktop and publish on Tableau Server/Cloud.
• Optimize workbook performance via design, tuning, and extract optimization.
• Implement advanced Tableau features: parameters, LOD, sets, actions, filters, extensions.
• Manage Tableau Server administration: publishing, permissions, subscriptions, schedules, governance.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver reporting.
• Develop and maintain data models using dimensional modeling (facts/dims).
• Support ETL/ELT processes and ensure data quality across reporting environments.
• Work with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake and related platforms.
• Participate in CI/CD for Tableau artifacts and analytics solutions.
• Troubleshoot reporting issues and ensure data accuracy and performance.
• Document dashboard designs, data mappings, and technical procedures.
