We are seeking an experienced Senior Tableau Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise business intelligence (BI) solutions for the Iowa Department of Public Health. The role focuses on developing interactive dashboards, reports, data visualizations, and managing Tableau Server environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Tableau, T-SQL, SSIS, MDX, DAX, and Microsoft BI technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards, reports, and data visualizations.
• Administer and manage Tableau Server, including user access, security, performance, and availability.
• Develop complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages.
• Design and maintain Microsoft Analysis Services databases, including multidimensional and tabular models.
• Develop and optimize MDX queries for OLAP databases and DAX calculations for PowerPivot.
• Support Microsoft BI solutions using SharePoint, PerformancePoint, PowerPivot, PowerView, and Reporting Services.
• Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, DBAs, and program teams to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
• Maintain database integrity, troubleshoot operational issues, and recommend performance improvements.
• Evaluate BI solutions, technical requirements, and vendor proposals.
• Provide technical guidance to junior developers and third-party resources.
• Investigate recurring system issues using logs, system dumps, and technical diagnostics.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience in reporting, analytics, or data modeling.
• Minimum 8 years of experience with Tableau, Tableau Server, and dashboard development.
• Minimum 8 years of experience administering and managing Tableau Server.
• Minimum 8 years of experience with SQL Server stored procedures and T-SQL.
• Minimum 8 years of experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Minimum 5 years of experience with MDX for OLAP databases.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with DAX and PowerPivot.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing Microsoft Analysis Services multidimensional and tabular databases.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with PerformancePoint, PowerPivot, PowerView, and Reporting Services on SharePoint.
• Minimum 5 years of experience using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
