Job summary

Synechron seeks an experienced Tableau Developer to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support business decisions. You will transform complex data into meaningful insights using Tableau, SQL, and data modeling.

The role requires hands-on experience with Tableau Desktop/Server/Cloud, strong SQL across Oracle/SQL Server/Snowflake/PostgreSQL/Teradata, and data warehousing concepts.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Tableau Development and BI.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Cloud.
  • Advanced SQL skills with Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, or Teradata.
  • Experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Knowledge of Tableau features: Calculated Fields, Parameters, Actions, LOD Expressions.
  • Experience integrating Tableau with multiple data sources.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and access control.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards, scorecards, and reports.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Create visualizations and interactive dashboards to support business decisions.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
  • Perform data validation and quality checks; troubleshoot issues.
  • Work with data engineers and analysts to ensure data accuracy.
  • Publish and manage Tableau workbooks, data sources, and extracts on Tableau Server/Cloud.
  • Monitor dashboard performance and optimize for scalability.
  • Create technical docs, data dictionaries, and report specs.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting and analytics requests.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Tableau Developer to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that support business decision-making. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Tableau, SQL, data modeling, and business intelligence solutions, along with the ability to transform complex data into meaningful insights.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $90k - $95k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain Tableau dashboards, scorecards, and reports.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Create compelling visualizations and interactive dashboards to support business decisions.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
  • Perform data validation, data quality checks, and troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Publish and manage Tableau workbooks, data sources, and extracts on Tableau Server/Cloud.
  • Monitor dashboard performance and implement enhancements for scalability.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, and report specifications.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting and analytics requests.
Requirements:
  • Experience in Tableau Development and Business Intelligence.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Cloud.
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience in relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, or Teradata.
  • Experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong understanding of Tableau features including:
  • Calculated Fields
  • Parameters
  • Actions
  • Level of Detail (LOD) Expressions
  • Dashboard Performance Optimization
  • Experience integrating Tableau with multiple data sources.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and access control.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills..
Preferred, but not required:
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Exposure to Snowflake, Databricks, or Big Data technologies.
  • Knowledge of Python, R, or other analytics tools.
  • Tableau Certified Professional or Tableau Desktop Specialist certification is preferred.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
