Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Electrical Designer to support multiple project phases, including planning, site evaluations, analyses, and documentation. You will assist in creating electrical schematics, grid layouts, lighting systems, and site designs using AutoCAD and MicroStation while following design standards.

The role requires the ability to work with a team of PMs, engineers and designers, producing drawings within budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in drafting technology or related field with 2+ years of experience or equivalent.
• Associate's Degree with 3 years of related experience or 4 years of progressive detailing experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, MicroStation and Excel to develop design deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing electrical projects including creating schematics, grid layouts, electrical power systems, lighting, protection, and site design.
• Prepare engineering drawings from rough sketches using CAD software.
• Perform drawing production tasks, including problem analysis and layout calculations.
