Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead a multidisciplinary software organization responsible for backend architecture, UI/UX, QA, and software integration for the Titan RF CUAS product. This role partners with cross-functional hardware and software teams to deliver production-ready systems.

The ideal candidate will be a strong people leader with a background integrating software into hardware products and will drive software IRAD projects from

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Eng/CE or related field.
• 12+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in management.
• Experience integrating software into hardware-based products.
• Experience establishing Agile processes and Jira usage.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary software team with staffing, evaluation and mentoring.
• Implement Agile processes with Jira including sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Define software standards, documentation, and engineering metrics.
• Establish unit testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and quality gates.
• Oversee software release management, configuration and deployment.
• Champion software quality through reviews and testing.
• Oversee backend, UI/UX, QA, and system-level integration.
• Shape SW roadmap and execute IRAD projects from concept to production.
• Address integration issues, risks, dependencies, and defects.
• Communicate project status and decisions to senior leadership.
