Job summary

Abacus Technology Corporation is seeking a Sr. Systems Safety Engineer to provide technical support at Robins AFB.

This full-time role requires extensive DoD safety program experience and a current Secret clearance, with responsibilities spanning hazard analyses, risk assessment, and safety compliance across aircraft systems. You will coordinate safety reviews, prepare briefing materials, maintain mishap risk records, and collaborate with the AF chief engineer and prime contractor to resolve

Qualifications

• 15+ years experience in safety and systems engineering with DoD programs
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• US citizen with a current Secret clearance
• Experience with system safety program plans and hazard analyses

Responsibilities

• Accomplish system safety tasks including risk assessment
• Assist in system safety program for assigned programs to ensure safety
• Review and help develop system safety plans and hazard analyses
• Maintain hazard tracking logs and track hazards to closure
• Organize and present briefing charts and minutes for system safety meetings
• Maintain mishap risk assessments and submit risk acceptance packages as needed
• Assist in mishap investigations and respond to findings and recommendations
• Develop solutions and report through appropriate channels to Air Force Safety Center
• Participate in system safety group meetings to address safety issues
• Support deviations, waivers, and CCB meetings to ensure aircraft safety
• Support technical reviews and program reviews for safety issues
• Participate in conferences and crisis management meetings
• Identify safety non-compliances regarding airworthiness and OSS&E
• Update AF SAFETY Automated System (AFSAS) every six months
