Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Software QA Engineer III to independently plan and execute verification activities for complex products, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure software quality throughout the development lifecycle. The role requires experience writing and executing manual test plans/test cases, documenting defects, and producing project status reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience writing, executing, and monitoring test suites using a variety of technologies.
• Strong working knowledge of testing fundamentals (unit, smoke, performance, integration, regression).
• Advanced knowledge of wireless networking protocols.
• Ability to write and maintain test procedures and test plans.
• Domestic travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual testing on communications applications.
• Leads a multidisciplinary test team at test events and reports to customer representatives.
• Writes and executes manual test plans/test cases, documents defects, and produces project status reports.
• Defines and implements QA practices, procedures, standards and reporting.
• Detail-oriented and analytical with strong verbal and written skills.
• Executes full system and production-level test plans prior to shipment.
• Interacts with developers and engineers; works in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Motivated self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.
• Thinks creatively to understand customer usage scenarios and configurations.
• Creates test scripts to capture logs and trigger boundary scenarios.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
