Job summary

AV is seeking a Software QA Automation Engineer III to design automated solutions that verify mission systems software and maintain robust test infrastructure. You will collaborate with development and system test teams with a high degree of autonomy.

You will design, expand and maintain automated test suites (Xray), own tests across components and subsystems, and contribute to hardware-in-the-loop regressions and flight tests. Strong automation and mentoring are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field is required.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, C# .NET, or Java; OO design is a plus.
• Experience in Software QA automation.
• Experience building and optimizing automation frameworks (e.g., Xray) with Python scripting.
• Comfortable with Linux and source control/CI pipelines (GitLab).
• Experience performing code reviews and mentoring on automation concepts.
• Willingness to travel within the Continental U.S. (20%).

Responsibilities

• Participates in design, expansion and maintenance of automated test suites and frameworks (e.g., Xray).
• Owns isolated component, sub-system, and automated system tests; supports hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) regressions and flight tests.
• Defines scope, resources, benchmarks and goals of manual and automation work.
• Implements QA practices, procedures, standards and reporting.
• Supports bug reporting and review; contributes to risk identification, tracking and mitigation.
• Defines project risks and provides alternative solutions and mitigation.
• Designs test plans, scenarios and cases to exercise new functionality and identify issues.
• Analyzes and modifies test software and automation for embedded, networked, and mission systems.
• Mentors less experienced team members on QA/QC concepts.
• Demonstrates initiative and teamwork to meet company objectives.
