Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Power Electrical Engineer for the Pixel Hardware team in Mountain View, CA.

You will own the electrical development of complex power subsystems, lead schematic and layout reviews, and drive optimization across the power chain to deliver high battery life and efficient charging for Pixel devices. The role emphasizes collaboration with Software and hardware teammates and requires experience in DC/DC design and validation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in power electronics, power system design, or hardware/electrical engineering within the consumer electronics industry, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience in DC/DC system design and validation

Responsibilities

  • Own electrical development of complex power subsystems or moderately complex power systems, under guidance from technical leads or managers.
  • Lead schematic design, board layout, and cross-functional design reviews, while driving system power design, power component design, system review and optimization.
  • Simulate and design complex power circuits like battery charger, fuel gauge, wireless charging, PMIC, etc.
  • Engage cross-functionally with teams such as Software to ensure successful power system design, integration, and validation.
  • Support system hardware bring-up (power+charging), debugging, and support for manufacturing, assembly, or deployment.

  • Simulate and design complex power circuits like battery charger, fuel gauge, wireless charging, power management integrated circuit (PMIC), etc. Select critical power components to optimize power system electric performance, space, thermals, and design trade-offs.
  • Engage cross-functionally with teams such as Software (SW) to ensure successful power system design, integration, and complete validation.
  • Support system hardware bring-up (focus on power+charging), debugging, and support for manufacturing, assembly, or deployment.
