Job summary

The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with physical servers, Linux and Windows Server, networking, firewalls, virtualization, and storage systems, and can work independently to ensure reliability, performance, and security on-site at our Tampa

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on systems and network engineering experience.
• Ability to deploy, configure, secure, and troubleshoot physical servers and networks.
• Strong Linux admin skills and Windows Server experience.
• Solid TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewall knowledge.
• Experience with virtualization, storage, backups, and DR.
• Security-minded with system hardening and access management.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication, able to work independently.
• On-site presence required in Tampa, FL.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers running Linux and Windows Server.
• Design, configure, and manage network infrastructure, including switches, routers, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls.
• Implement and maintain network security, access controls, IDS/IPS, and system hardening.
• Manage virtualization platforms, container environments, shared storage, backups, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Configure and support GPU-enabled servers and computing infrastructure for AI, software development, and digital twin applications.
• Deploy and maintain edge computing systems, specialized laboratory environments, and isolated or air-gapped networks.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot hardware and network issues, and proactively identify infrastructure improvements.
• Automate routine administration and maintenance using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, or comparable tools.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, equipment inventories, system configurations, and recovery procedures.
• Evaluate infrastructure requirements and recommend practical, cost-effective hardware, software, and system improvements.
