Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer – SME Telecommunications to advance the NAS modernization under the BNATCS contract. You will mentor the West Service Area team while performing hands-on tasks, guiding the migration of legacy TDM to fiber and IP networks across the NAS.

This role requires 100% local travel to FAA facilities in the region. Applicants should reside near Peachtree, GA and be eligible for a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (4 additional years of relevant experience can be accepted in lieu of degree).
• 12+ years of hands-on experience in telecommunications network engineering, circuit integration, or infrastructure planning.
• Deep technical command of BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, and IPv6, specifically telecommunications infrastructure for TDM-to-IP conversion.
• Hands-on experience with optical networking (fiber), telecom network infrastructure hardware, server-level deployments, testing, validation and acceptance.
• Proven ability to model network growth and optimize capacity during large-scale system upgrades.
• Telecommunications infrastructure experience with ground networks, air to ground systems and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, integration, and testing of NAS-supporting systems and translate architecture drawings into IP network solutions.
• Direct the full life cycle of network infrastructure and software projects from planning to deployment; manage cutovers and testing.
• Assess requirement documents and communicate necessary design changes to hardware and software teams.
• Work with network protocols and server hardware to resolve bottlenecks during multi-state deployments.
• Use dashboards and KPIs to verify fiber installations meet reliability and resilience standards.
• Provide clear, actionable status updates and briefings to stakeholders and senior leadership.
