Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Rockwall, TX seeks a Technical Manager, Systems Engineering to lead a diverse team of systems and field engineers, directing the design, integration and delivery of complex defense and aerospace systems.

This hybrid manager-practitioner role emphasizes people leadership, systems thinking, and ensuring alignment with customer needs, contractual obligations, and program milestones. A Secret clearance is required or achievable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 12+ years of related experience; Graduate Degree with 10+ years; or 16+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• 9+ years of progressive engineering experience in defense/aerospace environments.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams or engineering programs.
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of systems engineers supporting defense and aerospace programs.
• Ensure technical execution aligns with customer requirements, cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
• Support major program reviews and customer reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PRR).
• Collaborate with program management, chief engineers, software, hardware, test, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
• Manage staffing, workload planning, performance management, and succession planning within the systems engineering organization.
• Support proposals, basis of estimate, technology roadmaps, and capture activities for new opportunities.
• Identify and mitigate technical, programmatic, and integration risks across complex systems.
• Promote MBSE, digital engineering practices, and technical rigor.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and leadership on status and technical matters.
