Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Systems Engineering leader within the Systems Engineering Teams (SET) to drive cross-functional product development across new vehicle programs. This role focuses on optimizing system design, reducing part counts, and improving cost, weight, quality, and labor efficiency while guiding program milestones.

You will collaborate with Core Teams, suppliers, and multiple Ford groups to deliver integrated vehicle programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 5+ years of experience with Frames, Driveshafts, Fuel, Exhaust, Exhaust Sensors, Underbody Shields, PT Mounts, Body Mounts.
• 10+ years’ experience in product engineering design environment.
• Demonstrated Production Launch experience.
• Demonstrated experience with program management.
• Strong fundamentals of Cost Process and Functional Led Cost/Appearance Delivery Process.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunity areas for optimization and part reduction.
• Drive cost reduction, weight minimization, quality improvements.
• Coordinate with Core Teams on system optimization opportunities and manage change.
• Lead SET Adherence to Systems Engineering Operating Principles.
• Champion trade-off decisions to balance within the VHE Function.
• Manage SET zone to deliver cost/weight efficiencies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Tier 1 suppliers.
• Lead System Sign-Off and handover to Hardware and Application Engineering teams.
