Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a Mechatronics Application Engineer to drive cross-domain subsystem integration across vehicle programs. You will bridge electronics, hardware, features, controls, and software to ensure flawless physical‑to‑electrical execution on active programs.

You will own mechatronic subsystems (e.g., closures, windows, seats, climate) and coordinate with CVS, VHE, and other teams to align requirements, timing, and verification plans, delivering robust, synchronized solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years' experience delivering products, systems, or features from conception to launch.
• 3+ years' cross-functional teamwork across engineering domains.
• 3 years' demonstrated capability of working in a cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead subsystem-level execution across vehicle programs using core templates and models.
• Decompose feature requests into synchronized mechanical, electrical, and software requirements; interface with multiple teams.
• Develop program-specific Subsystem Boundary Diagrams, ICDs, and subsystem electrical block diagrams.
• Lead vehicle build issue triage and containment plans, investigate data logs, and define real-time containment for cross-domain failures.
• Align Agile software sprints with Waterfall hardware timelines (GPDS) to ensure readiness when parts arrive.
• Maintain subsystem integration readiness with risk mitigation and on-time delivery before key milestones.
• Ensure traceability from feature intent to component execution and prevent direct Feature-to-Electronic DR handoffs.
• Navigate challenges in vehicle development affecting cross-domain integration, including 14Ds, CCRGs, and PACs.
• Develop plans for subsystem verification and sign-off across current and future programs.
