Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a skilled software engineer to design, build, and operate WorkSpaces Applications services in Seattle. You will contribute to secure, scalable streaming and desktop delivery on AWS infrastructure and collaborate with multiple teams to deliver high-quality features at scale.

You will participate in on-call rotations, own design decisions, and help drive improvements across the service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• 3+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, Java, Python, or others.

Responsibilities

• Design, Develop, Deliver and Operate secure, reliable and scalable solutions for customer features as well as internal operational improvements.
• Maintain high standard by delivering high quality in your own work and push for a high bar in code, design and other document reviews for the team.
• Work across team boundaries and help deliver on team projects by showing high bar of ownership, earn trust and deliver results.
• Develop a deep understanding of the system and the overall service, understand core customer usage patterns and workflows; participate in on-call rotation and engage with customers and stakeholders to drive resolutions.
• Demonstrate customer obsession in your work (design, implementation, testing, deployments, operations).
• Develop communication skills and leverage written and verbal communication to earn trust and drive consensus across team boundaries.
• Be engaged in team meetings and processes and help identify and drive improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Mentor and role model for junior engineers by exemplifying Amazon's Leadership Principles.
