Job summary

Amazon in Seattle, WA is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to work on WorkSpaces Applications. You will design, build, and deploy scalable services that enable SaaS application streaming and virtual desktops at massive scale.

The role requires 3+ years of software development experience, strong design skills, and collaboration with cross-functional teams across engineering, science, and product management. You’ll write clean, high-quality code and help operate reliable systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy software features for Workspace Applications infrastructure and services
• Build scalable systems that manage resource provisioning, scaling, and lifecycle management
• Own operational excellence for your components, including monitoring, alarming, and on-call support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, science, and product management
• Continuously improve code quality, system performance, and development processes
• Write clean, maintainable code that scales to handle large-scale workloads
