Job summary

Qualifications

• 8+ years in systems engineering in production environments
• Experience in Windows, Linux and cloud environments
• 3+ years SQL query and monitoring experience
• Strong automation and scripting for config management
• Experience with IaC and cloud-native technologies
• Familiar with monitoring tools and network security basics
• Bachelor's Degree in related discipline
• Relevant certifications (RHCE/MCSE/MCSA) preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide overall systems support to database teams, development teams and end users for seamless operations
• Detect and resolve system outages, document diagnostics and develop workarounds
• Accurately document problems in logging and discrepancy reporting tools
• Work directly with customers in day-to-day activities
• Respond to user calls regarding hardware and software problems and escalate when needed
• Perform maintenance/installation of computing infrastructure
• Implement continuous improvement through IT systems or procedures
• Maintain inventory of system assets
• Ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies
• Provide documentation and training as needed
• Additional duties as assigned
