Systems Administrator / AWS Cloud Engineer / Linux Engineer‑Expert
Location: Warrenton, Virginia

Cornerstone Defense is expanding its System Administration team. We are seeking a highly skilled System Administrator/Cloud Engineer to enhance our existing technical team supporting the advancement of AI/ML/Data Science technologies in Warrenton, VA. The successful candidate will be a self‑motivated, innovative cloud engineer to join and contribute to a team environment. The candidate will be part of a team that supports the cloud infrastructure for an enterprise environment.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Must have hands‑on experience with AWS and Linux in a production environment.
- Experience patching and maintaining systems databases, including RDS, MySQL, and Oracle.
- Proven experience troubleshooting and solving technical problems.
- Knowledge of Federated Identity, RBAC, authentication & authorization solutions.
- Understanding of secure‑cloud configuration (e.g., CloudTrail, AWS Config), cloud‑security technologies (e.g., VPC, Security Groups) and Access Control (IAM).
- Experience with configuration management (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Experience with security, such as NGFW, WAF, SIEM, endpoint security.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced agile environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in IT related field or equivalency in related work experience.
- Demonstrated on‑the‑job experience working and solving technical problems independently as a system administrator.
- Experience using a scripting language.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and troubleshoot enterprise workflow applications, to include installing, starting, and stopping background processes, analyzing log and event files, and patching and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability creating and managing a virtual infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure, Hyper‑V, or VMWare.
Optional Qualifications
- Experience with an enterprise application development language, such as Python, Java, or C#, to include writing simple applications or modifying existing ones.
