Job summary

ProAmpac is seeking a Systems Engineer to own and evolve our core infrastructure across multiple locations. The role is hands-on and strategic, emphasizing reliable systems design, problem solving, and mentoring.

You will scale server, storage, virtualization, backup, and DR environments as the company grows. You will design and support VMware-based platforms, implement backup strategies, and collaborate across teams to deliver stable, scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

5+ years in systems/infrastructure engineering roles.
Deep experience with SAN and HCI storage platforms (MSA, Nimble, Alletra, vSAN).
Advanced experience with VMware Cloud Foundation and vSphere environments.
Proven experience with enterprise backup solutions (Veeam).
Experience designing and operating DR/replication solutions (Zerto).
Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, storage, and virtualization.
Solid understanding of Windows Server and enterprise networking concepts.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and support enterprise server infrastructure focusing on HP ProLiant hardware.
Manage SAN and HCI storage platforms (MSA, Nimble, Alletra, vSAN).
Architect and troubleshoot VMware-based platforms including VMware Cloud Foundation.
Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies using Veeam.
Design and support DR/replication solutions using Zerto.
Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle projects.
Monitor compute, storage, and virtualization performance and capacity.
Develop system documentation, runbooks, and diagrams.
Collaborate with network, security, and apps teams to ensure reliable platforms.
Serve as escalation point for complex incidents and root cause analysis.
Mentor junior engineers and establish infrastructure best practices.
