Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking an IT professional to design, implement, and support a virtualized Windows Server infrastructure in Texas. The role focuses on server administration, AD/Office 365, backup and disaster recovery, and cyber security across the environment.

You will monitor performance, apply patches, coordinate with vendors, and provide on-call or on-site support as needed to ensure business continuity. Strong VMware/Citrix experience and certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing and maintaining a server infrastructure.
• 3-5+ years of experience administering VMware/Citrix virtualization.
• BS in Computer Systems or related field, or 5+ years of related work experience.
• Proven experience troubleshooting server and systems issues.
• Understanding of Virtualized and Windows Server platforms.
• Knowledge of information security best practices for servers and devices.
• Microsoft and VMware certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and upgrade a Virtualized and Windows Server infrastructure.
• Install, configure and administer software and hardware.
• Document and maintain backups for disaster recovery and daily support.
• Maintain Active Directory and Office 365 permissions and licenses.
• Oversee the cyber security platform (antivirus, threat protection, encryption).
• Follow information security best practices for servers, storage, and devices.
• Monitor server infrastructure performance, integrity, and availability.
• Coordinate with external vendors and internal customers on issues.
• Purchase or upgrade virtualization platform, servers, storage, and backups.
• Create technical docs outlining the infrastructure and processes.
• Work with end-users to interpret business requirements.
• Collaborate with IT team to resolve issues.
• Provide 24/7 on-call or on-site support as required.
