Job summary

APPLIED PHYSICAL SCIENCES CORP (APS) is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the development of advanced U.S. Navy undersea systems from concept through production and qualification. You will lead requirements development, traceability, and system architecture across mechanical, electrical, and software domains to ensure Navy qualification and deployment.

The role requires 5+ years of systems engineering experience, strong writing and communication skills, and U.S. Citizenship.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline as listed.
  • Minimum 5 years of systems engineering experience in complex products.
  • Experience turning requirements into verified system designs.
  • Experience with requirements decomposition, verification, validation.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD clearance.
  • Experience coordinating across mechanical, electrical, software and test teams.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret Navy requirements, specifications, and interfaces.
  • Lead system, sub-system, and component requirements development.
  • Create and maintain requirements traceability from customer needs to verification.
  • Coordinate system integration across engineering disciplines.
  • Develop ICDs, system specs, verification plans, and VDPs.
  • Support qualification testing and Navy qualification activities.
