Job summary

Bcore seeks a Senior Systems Engineer in Gaithersburg, MD to design, integrate, and evolve critical systems for the NGA mission. You will collaborate with software engineers, cybersecurity professionals, and government partners to deliver scalable, secure solutions using modern engineering practices and DevSecOps.

Required TS clearance with SCI eligibility, CS/SE degree, and 8+ years in systems engineering; experience with Agile, Jira/Confluence, cloud, and CI/CD is expected.

Qualifications

• Active TS clearance with SCI Eligibility and CI Poly eligibility.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar).
• 8+ years experience in professional systems engineering; 8-12 years or Master’s with 6-10 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering activities across full lifecycle: requirements, architecture, integration, testing, deployment, sustainment.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Agile teams to translate mission needs into technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain system architectures, interfaces, CONOPS, and technical documentation.
• Perform decomposition, functional analysis, allocation, and traceability.
• Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and technical roadmaps.
• Evaluate system performance, identify risks, and propose mitigations.
• Coordinate integration across multiple development teams and partners.
• Support verification/validation activities and design reviews.
• Contribute to CI/CD and DevSecOps initiatives and ensure compliance.
