Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Rancho Bernardo, CA is seeking a Sr. Staff Systems Engineer to join the Systems Engineering team on-site. The role focuses on leading SE activities, trade studies, and program execution across disciplines while coordinating with stakeholders.

Ideal candidates hold a STEM degree with extensive experience and active clearances; responsibilities include proposal support, CAM duties, and cross-team collaboration. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 14 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related engineering experience.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with BI within 6 years or Continuous Evaluation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance in a reasonable time.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough trade studies and analyses for networking decisions in new development.
• Manage SE functions including Safety, Human Factors, Operational Analysis, Cost Engineering, and Configuration & Data Management.
• Lead technical reviews such as SRR and PDR and brief execution status and risks at program meetings.
• Assess incoming changes for SEIT impacts and coordinate trade studies across disciplines.
• Maintain SEIT process documentation and support capture, proposals, and business pursuits.
