Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a Senior/Principal Systems Engineer for the Technical Security Systems department on site in the United States. The role leads multi-disciplinary technical teams to advance nuclear security systems, interfacing with DOE/NNSA stakeholders and guiding design, evaluation, and lifecycle management of security solutions.

You will work with strategic customers to shape program direction, manage scope, cost, and schedule, and ensure compliance with DOE/NNSA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years in related roles.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
• Leadership of multi-disciplinary teams in security-focused projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplined technical teams with strong project leadership across national security areas.
• Oversee a portfolio of nuclear security system projects across DOE/NNSA sites.
• Design, develop, and evaluate security system components and architectures.
• Interact with high-level DOE/NNSA customers and partners to align program direction.
