Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a Senior/Principal Computing Infrastructure Engineer for High Security Operations. The role covers full lifecycle management of multi-user information systems, including servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud infrastructure, with emphasis on security, disaster recovery, and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a CS/IT degree and 5+ years in IT infrastructure, with experience in security tools, Active Directory, and patch management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field plus 5 years' experience, or equivalent.
• 5 years of server/desktop hardware/software support, systems or network administration.
• Experience with patch management tools (Ivanti or SCCM).
• Experience with security suites (Symantec, McAfee, SentinelOne, Windows Defender).
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q-level and SCI clearance (polygraph possible).
• Desirable: Active DOE Q-Level or DOD-TS clearance; familiarity with AD, ITSM/Remedy, Veritas, Commvault, ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

• Work independently on assignments supporting Sandia projects and operations.
• Develop solutions for moderate scope problems with internal/external customers.
• Advise management on policies and operations; contribute to process improvements.
• Lead or participate in planning, conducting, and reporting on projects.
• Resolve hardware/software architecture issues meeting performance, scalability, and security needs.
• On-site work is required due to the nature of the role.
