Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer for our 100% onsite Tucson campus. The role emphasizes requirements engineering, MBSE, and software-system integration to support verification and tests.

The candidate should have a STEM bachelor’s with 5+ years of experience, plus familiarity with DOORS, Azure DevOps, and model-based methods. Relocation may be available; travel occasional.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in STEM plus at least 5 years of engineering experience.
• Experience in Systems Engineering.
• Experience in MBSE, requirements development, requirements management, verification or integration and test for software products.
• Masters or PhD in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics preferred.
• Experience with Agile development methods and Digital Engineering preferred.
• Experience delivering analytical/technical presentations preferred.
• Experience assessing and reducing technical risk preferred.
• Self-starting with ability to work with limited direction preferred.
• Strong customer focus and collaboration skills preferred.
• Experience with performance analysis preferred.
• Experience with DOORS and/or cpDM preferred.
• Experience with Azure DevOps methods/tools preferred.
• Proficiency with Matlab, C, C++, C#, or Python preferred.
• Ability to perform trade studies and improve system performance.
• Understanding of the Systems Engineering product development cycle.

Responsibilities

• We update and maintain system- and subsystem-level requirements for embedded software and test systems.
• We model the system and development/production processes using Cameo.
• We conduct trade studies and share findings with customers.
• We provide technical SE support for verification/validation activities.
• We collaborate with SYSTEMS, SOFTWARE, CONFIGURABLE LOGIC, and TEST teams on a range of tasks.
• We participate in technical discussions with customers.
• We serve as a go-to SE resource for software-centric program capabilities.
• We onboard, mentor, and guide new team members using core SE practices.

• – We serve as a go-to systems engineering resource for software-centric program capabilities.
• – We help onboard, mentor, and guide new team members using core systems engineering practices.
