Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, develop and integrate complex work systems across the lifecycle. The role emphasizes implementing strategies, evaluating products, and building an infrastructure that supports evolving customer needs.

This position requires 8+ years of related technical experience, a BS in a relevant field, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with opportunities for training, certification, and career

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related technology field (Experience may be substituted).
• Minimum of 8 years’ related technical experience.
• Practical use of DevOps/DevSecOps and/or GitOps methodologies.
• Solid knowledge of DNS, HTTP, LDAP, ICMP, SSH and SNMP.
• Networking, VLANs, Firewalls, Load Balancers and addressing schemes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor all infrastructure and systems installations, including configuration, testing, and maintenance.
• Implement and maintain strategies for backup, security, and redundancy.
• Identify potential issues and implement solutions proactively.
• Craft custom scripts that reduce the need for human interaction.
• Enable faster and smarter business processes and develop meaningful analytics.
• Engage with upper management, providing reports on project status, activities, and achievements.
• Create and maintain documentation relating to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
