Job summary

TRiNET Technologies LLC is seeking a seasoned Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement and support enterprise Windows environments using SCCM, Intune and Azure technologies.

The role emphasizes hands-on administration, automation with PowerShell, AD, GPOs, and ongoing modernization across on-prem and cloud platforms. You will collaborate with peer teams, handle on-call rotations and support federal customers as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior level SCCM packaging and software distribution support.
  • Support Windows imaging lifecycle, baseline configurations, and OS issue resolution.
  • Use Intune to manage user devices (mobile and workstation).
  • Implement PowerShell scripts to automate Windows administration.
  • Lead Windows system administration for migrations, upgrades, and new integrations.
  • Resolve outages impacting Windows Servers and Workstations.
  • Provide advanced IIS support, apply DISA STIGs for baselines.
  • Suggest changes to Group Policy and implement new GPOs.
  • Apply AppLocker for application control and security.
  • Create and maintain system design diagrams; document SOPs.
  • Handle ServiceNow Changes and Tasks.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours changes.
  • Engage in periodic disaster recovery exercises; liaise with vendors and federal customers.

Job description

TRiNET Technologies is seeking a well-seasoned Senior Systems Engineer with experience in Microsoft SCCM, Intune and Azure Technologies. Duties include interacting with peer teams and partner groups, scaling and deploying improvement, consolidation, migration and break/fix efforts within the enterprise. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft SCCM, Software distribution, Workstation Management, Server Architecture, PowerShell Scripting, Active Directory, etc. The right candidate will have the ability to adapt to changing technology and apply it to customer needs. Great communication, personal skills and a focus on customer service are a must. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, someone experienced and capable of taking ownership of complex issues with flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties:
  • Provide senior level support for System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), packaging and distribution of software packages.
  • Support Windows Workstations imaging lifecycle, baseline configurations, and Operating System (OS) issue resolution.
  • Utilize Intune to manage user devices such as mobile phones and workstations.
  • Implement PowerShell scripting to automate Windows system administration and create new efficiencies.
  • Lead and take ownership of Windows system administration duties related to application migrations, upgrades, and new integrations.
  • Take lead to resolve organizational-wide outages impacting Windows Servers and Workstations.
  • Provide advanced support for Windows IIS environments, including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting of middle-tier application hosting. Ensure compliance with security standards by applying DISA STIGs to establish and maintain software configuration baselines.
  • Make recommendations for changes to existing Group Policies (GPO) and implementing new GPO's.
  • Application control and security enforcement using AppLocker.
  • Create and maintain system design diagrams to support implementation changes.
  • Receive technical work assignments through ServiceNow Changes and Tasks.
  • Document standard operating procedures and help create new work instructions.
  • Participate in an On-Call rotation for after-hours support.
  • Provide support for occasional planned changes after-hours as needed.
  • Participate in periodic disaster recovery exercises.
  • Reply to all customer inquiries within the required SLA and MTTR.
  • Work with vendors as needed to find solutions for uncommon and complex issues.
  • Engage with federal customers as needed to plan for future upgrades and new implementations as well as to support day-to-day operations.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's and 5 years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; may accept additional experience in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust requiring U.S. Citizenship or Green Card.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell, Active Directory, Windows Server (2019 & 2022) system log analysis, Windows 11 Workstation OS org-wide administration.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP based networking concepts and basic troubleshooting for network communication errors from the command line.
  • Prior scripting and automation experience is required.
  • Hands-on experience implementing, administering or supporting Group Policy and Object Attributes.
  • Experience implementing best practices for Microsoft Windows Server administration.
  • Ability to work independently to process technical service requests using an enterprise ticketing system such as ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.
  • Experience resolving complex technical issues impacting org-wide operations.
  • PowerShell Scripting and automation.
  • Active Directory and Group Policy administration.
  • Microsoft Windows Server OS, Windows 2019, 2022 and 2025.
  • Experience working in Azure environment.
  • Working knowledge of LDAP.
  • Ability to apply ITIL v4 Foundation concepts within the workplace.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills.
  • General knowledge of Third-party management and monitoring solutions (SCCM, SCOM, InfoBlox DNS, BigFix).
  • Senior level knowledge and well-seasoned technical experience with Microsoft System Administration.
