Job summary

Saab, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team in East Syracuse, NY. You will lead design for feature development, advance radar products, and maintain technical documentation to support customer deliverables.

The role requires 7+ years in safety-critical industries, strong communication skills, and proficiency with electromechanical/embedded systems. Travel less than 2 weeks per year is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in safety-critical industries.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to form productive relationships within a team.
• Demonstrated proficiency with electromechanical and/or embedded software systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Experience with requirements management, system design, and system integration.
• Excellent written and oral communication and collaboration skills.
• Domestic and international travel may be required (less than 2 weeks per year).

Responsibilities

• Lead top-level design for new features and changes from internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead development of primary and secondary radar products for safety-critical surveillance.
• Develop and maintain specifications and documentation for customer deliverables and internal processes.
• Balance competing interests from multiple stakeholder groups.
• Coordinate with product development management to meet technical, cost, and schedule objectives while managing risk.
• Develop and propose new technologies and capabilities to enhance product performance.
• Support technical and cost proposal preparation for future programs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent

Advanced degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline
