Job summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer III – Test to lead rocket motor testing activities and oversee integration of propulsion, avionics, and control systems. You will plan, execute, and analyze hot-fire test campaigns, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to TRRs and technical documentation.

The role reports to the Systems Engineering Manager within the Strategic Systems Department and can be based in Reno, NV or Folsom, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related STEM field from an accredited college/university.
• Four (4) to Seven (7) years of progressive experience in aerospace/defense test engineering.
• Hands-on experience with rocket motor integration, subsystem verification, and hot-fire test campaigns.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD, test safety and propulsion qualification/acceptance test standards and practices.
• Experience with HWIL and SWIL environments for propulsion and control system verification.
• Strong background in test software development and automation and involvement in software and hardware integration activities, including troubleshooting and data analysis.
• Proficiency in instrumentation and data acquisition (DAQ) systems, including setup, calibration, wiring and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of serial communication protocols (RS-422, RS-485, CAN) for test systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed test plans, procedures and requirements for rocket motor testing and subsystem verification.
• Lead integration and checkout of propulsion, avionics, and control systems in support of rocket motor test campaigns.
• Coordinate pre-test activities, including wiring, calibration, control system verification, and DAQ integration.
• Ensure test facilities and support equipment are configured for hot-fire testing.
• Support and lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) to ensure safety and program compliance.
• Analyze test data, document findings, and provide recommendations for anomaly resolution and system improvements.
• Support test software development, HWIL, and SWIL for rocket motor verification.
