Job summary

BD is seeking a Sr Staff Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of pharmacy automation products in the Vial and Central Solutions portfolio. You will drive system integrity, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in a controlled environment.

The role requires deep systems engineering expertise across hardware, software, and mechanics, risk analyses, and verification/validation planning.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM.
8+ years of progressive systems engineering experience, including electromechanical/robotics.
Experience across product lifecycle for complex systems.
Proficient with requirements management tools and risk methodologies.

Responsibilities

Lead systems engineering activities within vial and central solutions portfolio from concept to post-market support.
Define and document system requirements, architecture, and design specs for regulatory compliance.
Perform advanced system-level analysis including FMEA and hazard analysis.
Develop and execute verification and validation plans to ensure robust testing.
Collaborate with software, hardware and other teams to ensure seamless product development.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues using root cause analysis.
Contribute to continuous improvement of systems engineering processes and tools.
Represent systems engineering in technical reviews and regulatory audits.
