Shift5 in Rosslyn, VA is seeking a Systems Engineer to bridge engineering and real-world DoW deployments, overseeing how our system integrates with DoW platforms, including embedded software, hardware, cabling, and cloud environments. This hands‑on role emphasizes compliance, requirements management, and delivery of formal artifacts.

This role requires 5+ years in systems/integration, a technical Bachelor's degree, an active security clearance, and willingness to travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in systems, integration, or software engineering in aerospace/defense.
• Active Security Clearance and DoW program familiarity.
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix, TCP/IP, encryption, and safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and design integration of Shift5 software/hardware into customer platforms.
• Own and manage system-level baselines across programs and verify requirements.
• Lead development and delivery of CDRL artifacts and technical manuals.
• Lead cross-discipline technical execution across software, cyber, hardware, and platforms.
• Define verification strategies and oversee testing activities.
