Job summary

McLaughlin Research Corporation (MRC) seeks a Systems Engineer to support the Ocean Science, Autonomous Systems, and Ranges Department in Newport, RI. The successful candidate will apply mechanical and model-based systems engineering to develop, integrate, and provide life cycle support for launcher and payload systems, including unmanned undersea vehicles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Work with NUWC Engineers to establish standards, practices, and procedures for integrating, testing, and evaluating weapons systems used onboard Navy Submarines.
• Evaluate system capabilities, architectures, design concepts, requirements, risks, opportunities, and processes for integration, test, evaluation, and transition impacts.
• Design, develop, and implement test and evaluation strategies, plans and methods to assure reliability of systems in conjunction with system specifications and defined capabilities.
• Develop and interpret requirements, drawings, data sets, reports, and specifications
• Interface with other members of project teams to define and implement engineering solutions to meet systems mission objectives
• Resolve programmatic and technical problems that would affect cost, schedule, and performance.
• Develop, document and maintain test procedures, methods, and tools
• Integrate technical, cost, and safety considerations into the product definition to comply with Department of Defense requirements
• Perform system analyses, design studies, testing, and data collection/analysis
