Job summary

McLaughlin Research Corporation in Newport, RI seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Platforms & Payloads Integration Department and NUWC programs. You will apply systems engineering to develop, integrate, and provide life cycle support for launcher and payload systems, including unmanned undersea vehicles.

The role requires collaboration with NUWC engineers, rigorous adherence to DoD standards, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Establish standards, practices, and procedures for integrating, testing, and evaluating weapons systems used onboard Navy Submarines.
• Evaluate system capabilities, architectures, design concepts, requirements, risks, opportunities, and processes for integration, test, evaluation, and transition impacts.
• Design, develop, and implement test and evaluation strategies, plans and methods to assure reliability of systems.
• Develop and interpret requirements, drawings, data sets, reports, and specifications.
• Interface with project teams to define and implement engineering solutions to meet mission objectives.
• Resolve programmatic and technical problems affecting cost, schedule, and performance.
• Develop, document and maintain test procedures, methods, and tools.
• Comply with Department of Defense requirements by integrating technical, cost, and safety considerations.
