Job summary
Exthymic is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineer to drive cross-disciplinary development at the intersection of biology, chemistry, instrumentation, and software. You will translate market and user needs into testable design inputs, manage interfaces, and maintain system-level requirements and risk analyses.
In this role you will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, fluidic, software, and biology teams, support V&V planning, and contribute to program planning and milestone tracking to de-risk
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or scientific discipline.
- Typically 5+ years at the intersection of biology, chemistry, and instrumentation.
- System-level requirements management and MBSE familiarity.
- Experience aligning multiple engineering teams and resolving interface conflicts.
- Experience with QMS and design history files.
Responsibilities
- Keep one shared picture of system requirements and track them in a requirements tool.
- Define and maintain interfaces between subsystems to enable parallel work.
- Support verification and validation planning and maintain system risk analyses.
- Assist with prototype assembly and testing with engineering and biology teams.
- Contribute to program planning and milestone tracking; flag risks early.
