Job summary

SciTec Incorporated in Boulder, CO, seeks a Senior Staff/Senior Systems Engineer to design, integrate, and certify core capabilities for National defense. You will model and simulate sensor data, implement MBSE, and guide a fast-moving Agile team of scientists, engineers, and developers.

The role requires IEEE 15288 alignment, ability to interpret complex standards, and translating requirements into actionable guidance. DoD SECRET clearance is required or can be pursued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of professional experience in engineering, computer science, or remote sensing.
• 2+ years of professional experience specifically in systems engineering.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply systems engineering processes aligned with IEEE 15288.
• Perform requirements derivation, decomposition, allocation, and traceability.
• Analyze tactical data link standards, specifications, and ICDs to guide software teams.
• Support testing to verify system and software conformance to standards.
• Identify ambiguities in standards and track issues from discovery to closure.
• Analyze and document standards conformance for certification and evaluation.
• Design and model architectures for remote sensor data processing systems.
• Mentor staff in systems engineering processes and best practices.
• Develop and maintain systems engineering artifacts (requirements, architecture, certification evidence).
• Communicate technical concepts clearly through documentation and briefings.
