Senior Systems Engineer - Linux - Quant Trading

My client, an elite quantitative trading firm is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to help build and improve the Linux infrastructure underpinning its trading, research and development environments.

You’ll have technical ownership across a large-scale, performance-critical Linux estate, solving complex systems problems where performance, reliability and automation are key.

From tuning and optimising Linux systems to automating provisioning and fleet management, you’ll help improve how infrastructure is built at scale while working on projects that directly impact the firm’s trading platform.

You’ll likely have:

• systems Strong Linux / Systems Engineering experience


• Deep understanding of Linux and internals


• Python, Bash or other scripting experience


• Experience with automation and configuration management


• Strong troubleshooting and performance debugging skills


• Experience working with large-scale or complex infrastructure


• Technical leadership exp is a plus


• No trading or finance experience needed

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys getting deep into Linux, solving difficult infrastructure problems and finding better ways to automate and operate systems at scale.

The role can be based out of their Chicago or New York office with highly competitive compensation for strong candidates.
