Data Center Engineer – Quant Trading | Chicago / NYC

I'm partnering with an elite quantitative trading firm looking to hire a Data Center Engineer into the team responsible for the physical infrastructure underpinning its global trading and compute environments.

You’ll take technical ownership across high-performance data center infrastructure, working on major deployments, colo build-outs, hardware lifecycle and automation. You’ll work closely with Linux, Network and Platform teams to build and scale infrastructure supporting latency-sensitive trading and compute environments.

Requirements

• Strong experience engineering and operating large-scale data center or colocated infrastructure
• Deep knowledge of enterprise server hardware and physical infrastructure
• Experience with hardware deployments, migrations and data center build-outs
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals within data center environments
• Experience troubleshooting complex hardware and infrastructure issues at scale
• Exposure to Linux environments and infrastructure automation/scripting
• Ability to take technical ownership and lead infrastructure projects end-to-end

Nice to Have

• Experience deploying and supporting high-density GPU compute infrastructure
• Exposure to liquid-cooled / direct-to-chip cooling environments
• Experience with FPGA-based infrastructure or other specialist compute hardware
• Understanding of high-density power, cooling and capacity requirements
• Experience supporting HPC, AI/ML or large-scale research compute clusters
• Background within quantitative trading, hyperscale technology or another performance-sensitive environment

The role can be based out of their Chicago or New York office with highly competitive compensation for strong candidates.
