Boston Scientific Corporation seeks a Fellow Systems Engineer in its Neuromodulation R&D team. You will lead systems engineering strategy, architecture, and design for implantable medical devices and connected cloud/mobile tech.

The role requires deep technical expertise, systems thinking, and collaboration across hardware, firmware, and software in a regulated medical device environment. You will drive architecture decisions, define requirements, and guide documentation and risk management,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of engineering experience (Master’s may substitute for 2 years).
• 7+ years of engineering experience in mixed HW/SW systems.
• 5+ years in the design, development, and testing of embedded systems and/or active implantable medical device experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in defining, developing and evaluating complex system requirements, specifications and architectures for multidisciplinary engineering systems.
• Extensive hands‑on experience with system integration, troubleshooting and verification of complex hardware and software systems in laboratory environments.]

Responsabilités

• Serve as technical lead providing strategic engineering leadership across multidisciplinary teams and complex product development initiatives
• Define and analyze system requirements, clinical workflows, and input/output processes by using systems engineering methods and techniques
• Drive resolution of highly complex system integration challenges, applying advanced engineering judgment to evaluate trade-offs and influence critical technical decisions
• Define and guide system architecture, including critical interfaces, design trade-offs and interactions across hardware, firmware, software and connected technologies
• Establish and guide system-level design documentation, requirements traceability and change impact assessments to ensure technical rigor and compliance with quality system requirements
• Partner with regulatory and quality teams to provide technical expertise and support regulatory strategies, submissions and compliance activities
• Influence technical priorities, development strategies and execution plans across complex engineering initiatives, balancing technical risk, business objectives and project timelines
• Provide technical leadership in system risk management, including failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), hazard analysis and mitigation strategies for complex medical device systems
