Job summary

NKC Health in Kansas City is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to ensure stability and efficient operation of in-house information systems across the hospital. You will mentor engineers, define documentation standards, and provide SME guidance across a broad technology stack.

You will maintain and troubleshoot systems, manage virtualization (VMware), Windows/AD, Linux, and storage environments, while delivering 24x7 on-call support. A healthcare IT background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of experience with applications/OS or equivalent mix.
• Seven years' experience with Windows servers and Active Directory in physical and virtual environments.
• Four years' experience managing Linux in physical and virtual environments.
• Four years' experience managing storage devices, preferably EMC storage.
• Four years' experience managing medium to large VMware environments.
• Five years IT experience in a healthcare facility or health care system.
• Two years' experience with Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery platforms/products.

Responsibilities

• Ensure stability, integrity and efficient operation of in-house information systems.
• Mentor and guide System Engineers and System Administrators.
• Design, build, test, implement, and troubleshoot information technology systems.
• Provide subject matter expertise across the technology stack.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support for enterprise systems issues.
